For over 30 years Concor had been manufacturing screw and barrel components for the Plastics Industry that have proven to deliver better wear resistance, improved output and optimized melt quality. These high performance products have provided molders with the tools they need to satisfy the requirements of their clients. Concor’s constant search for more wear resistant materials, development of improved feedscrew design, and our willingness to invest in new ideas have continued to benefit our customers.
SCREWS
Injection, extrusion, thermoset, rubber screws are all manufactured at Concor. Many screws are chromed or nitride but special coatings and hardsurfacing materials provide added benefit and wear resistance. Through hardened tool steel screws, such as CPM 9V, often times provide the best wear resistance in abrasive conditions. Unlike other screw rebuilders, Concor has the unique ability to rebuild most through hardened screws. (See our page on rebuilding CPM 9V screws) Numerous mixing and barrier screws designs provide better output and better mixing depending on the desired outcome. We pay close attention to provide the best design solution.
BARRELS
Through hardened tool steel lined barrels provide the straightest barrels possible, outdoing the SPI standard by more than half. Standard D2 and premium CPM 10V are most often used. Reiloy bimetallic blanks are stocked at Concor to provide fast delivery. Wexco bimetallic barrels can also supplied particularly in the larger diameters.
END CAPS
Custom made end caps allow you to standardize nozzles threads. Concor’s innovative “inserted” design has proven wear resistance properties. When worn or damaged, only the insert needs replacing and that is at a fraction of the cost of a new end cap.
TIP ASSEMBLIES (SHUT OFF VALVES)
Concor’s VELOCI-T tip design is made from premium materials that hold hardness even in high temperatures. Hundreds are in stock and ready to ship. Four piece and ball checks can also be manufactured or supplied.
NOZZLE ADAPTERS
Custom nozzle adapters can be made out of many different materials. 4140, H13, stainless steel are the most common.
NOZZLES
Custom made specialty nozzles are available often made from non-stick stainless tool steel.
TIE BARS
Generally made in sets. Some require chrome plating.
MAXI-BLAST
Extrusion, injection and even twin screw cleaning can be done without harsh chemicals or long hours of hand cleaning. Effective blasting media, used in conjunction with the Maxi-Blast Mobile Screw Cleaning System, reduces cleaning time to an average of 30 minutes per screw.
CHEM-TREND PURGING COMPOUND
Purge compounds are extremely important for modern thermoplastic processors. Carbon build-up in screw and barrel assemblies, as well as on die sets and tooling has a significant impact on processing efficiency, scrap rates, tool and die life and the length of change-over time and equipment maintenance.
