Engineering and Design
Innovative feedscrew design is just one aspect of what our engineering team provides. They continually develop custom solutions to maximize the life of screw/barrel components for many unique applications.
Our customers have diverse processing needs due to the many different industries they serve: medical, appliance, electronic, auto, agriculture, pharmaceutical, food, packaging, telecommunications, aerospace and chemical.
Custom molders process a wide array of resin which often contains various fillers.
Some are doing metal injection molding, thermoset molding, extrusion, processing of organic materials, blow molding, liquid silicone, and even wood/wax slurry.
Our engineering staff has the knowledge and experience to fit the best designs with the best steels to meet the requirements of our customers.
Our engineers become closely involved when customers need help in the following ways:
A.Processing problems – see our troubleshooting page.
B.Existing components experiencing accelerated wear.
C.When new feedscrew designs are required.
D.Machine design – modification or repair.
We work to define the problem or desired goal, gather information, generate multiple solutions, select the best solution and then implement.
Concor engineers use Solidworks 3D CAD Solutions. It’s intuitive interface and powerful design capabilities drive smarter, faster designs. Powerful toolsets, clear communication of design information, virtual prototyping and quick generation of manufacturing ready drawings make Solidworks the design software of choice. With this 3D modeling, we have the ability to check all parts for form, fit and function BEFORE any machining has been done.
Our engineering solutions are designed with the customer in mind. We are always looking for the best balance of design vs. cost when addressing any engineering project and strive to maintain functionality. In other words, you shouldn’t have to pull the engine to change the oil filter.
Our innovative inserted end cap, volume reduction screw, Saxton mixer, Solidstar and Duracon screw, and Veloci-T™ valves are all examples of taking past experiences and applying common sense solutions to build components that get the job done without the high cost that comes from over engineering.
Our engineers can work with your engineers to confirm designs and prints. With over 15,000 prints in our library, there is a good chance we have what you need.
